Ola Vandagrifft Boyd

Ola Vandagrifft Boyd, 74, of Mills River, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Martinsville, IN, she was a daughter of the late Gearol and Carrie Brewer Vandagrifft. She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Anthony Boyd, who died in 2009. Ola is survived by her husband of 33 years, George "Bill" Boyd; five daughters, Sharon Stefanski and her husband, Wayne, of Inverness, FL, Karen Waldron and her husband, Shawn, of Hernando, FL, Rebecca Smith and Myra Stepp, both of Mills River and Michelle Walsh and her husband, Tim, of North Platt, NE; one sister, Patty Pennington of Wilmington, NC as well as fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Words of Life Tabernacle with Pastor Carl Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Wednesday at Words of Life Tabernacle. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests that memorial contributions be made to Words of Life Tabernacle, 815 Glenn Bridge Road, Arden, NC 28704. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
