Pansy Holcombe Branton, 85, of Asheville, passed into eternal life on Sunday, December 31, 2000. A native of Buncombe County, she lived her entire life in the Asheville area and was a daughter of the late O.K. and Lura Martin Teague. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Ephris Holcombe, brothers, Glen and Paul Teague, sister Pearl Duckett, great- grandson, Edward Davidson and great-great- granddaughter McKenzie Rardin. Her survivors include her husband, J.C. Branton of the home; two sons, Charles Holcombe of Asheville, Owen Holcombe of Flowery Branch, GA; three daughters, Janet Luther Poe of Alamogordo, NM, Barbara Lance and Linda Fender both of Asheville; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great- grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; and two step-sons, Tommy and Pete McCurry both of Asheville. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Reverend Willard Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas Dillingham Cemetery with pallbearers being Pete McCurry, Charles Jones, Charlie Murphy, Steve Lance, Guy Wells and RC Constant. Her family will receive friends 7-8:30 Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at 21 Rosemary Road, Asheville.

    It seems like yesterday that I was a child on Deaverview Rd. I watch as our parents and friends go on to be with the Lord and Know that we are not far behind.

  2. Pansy and I are distant cousins and were childhood friends at Turkey Creek Church. She gave me a doll which I still have. We used to talk on the phone frequently. I will miss her.
