Patricia Ann Queen

Patricia Ann Queen, 86, of Asheville, died Monday, November 10, 2014. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late George D. and Victoria Jeter Sherrill. Mrs. Queen was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and worked as an environmental specialist with the State of North Carolina. Mrs. Queen is survived by her husband, Robert W. Queen; her son, Robert Queen and wife, Linda; cousins, Sherri and David Hill, Cynthia and Mike Justice; close friends, Ann and Clive Broadbent; and caregivers, Virginia McClure and Myra Price. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Central United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Rob Blackburn and the Rev. Julie Wilburn-Peeler officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
