Patricia Ann Quinn Tyndall went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2024, at her beloved home with her family by her side.
She was born December 9, 1937, weighing around three pounds to Zennie James Quinn and Nellie Brock Quinn in Kinston, North Carolina. Pat grew up on a family farm, which was near and dear to her heart, her entire life. She graduated from BF Grady HS and East Carolina College (now ECU) in 1959. After a very brief engagement she married, the love of her life, Paul Tyndall, a high school classmate. They moved to Asheville to begin their married life. Pat stayed at home to raise her daughters then returned to the workforce in 1973, where she taught second grade at Sand Hill Elementary School until her retirement in 1994. During her retirement Pat and Paul, enjoyed traveling and grand-parenting. Pat and Paul were devoted caregivers to Pat’s mother in their home from 2000 until her passing in 2008.
Pat was a very active member of Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church for over 60 years serving in a variety of roles and she greatly treasured her time of service and fellowship. She maintained memberships in professional organizations, and especially enjoyed her time with her Kappa Kappa Iota Sorority sisters and retired teacher friends.
Pat is survived by her husband, Paul, of 63 wonderful years; daughters, Paula Easley, Asheville and Pamela Baker (Richard) Concord, NC; five grandchildren, Robert Easley, Jr., of Denver, CO, William Easley, of Felton, PA, Patrick Baker (Annie), of Concord, NC, Rebecca Baker Blankenship (Rob), of Burlington, NC, and Cayla Easley Cummings (Matthew) of Hummelstown, PA; and the newest joys of her life, great-granddaughters, Addison Cummings, and Audrey Baker and great-grandson, Levi Cummings. Pat was excited to learn that great-grand baby Blankenship would arrive in August. Pat is also survived by her only brother, Zennie Quinn of Charleston, South Carolina, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Pat’s family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. The funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00 p.m. followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to CEF of North Carolina, Inc, Greater Asheville Area Chapter, PO Box 910, Asheville, NC 28802.
The family greatly appreciates CarePartners Hospice of Asheville, who walked beside us on this difficult journey and Comfort Keepers for enabling Pat to remain happily in her home until the Lord called her to her eternal heavenly home.

Love and miss you
The only words that are fitting at this time, is thank you for sharing Jesus with me at Sunday school at Malvern Hulls 46 years ago. What a blessing it was to know you and Me. Paul. I know without a doubt Jesus was waiting to tell you well done. Love to you Paul,Paula and Pam.
This hurts my heart so much. Mrs. Tyndall was my favorite teacher. She taught me in second grade when I was at Sand Hill. Sending out prayers of comfort to her family.
I am remembering the good times we had on your back porch for family reunions and birthday parties. You are the last of my aunts and I will miss you terribly.
So sorry to hear of your family’s loss.
Kim Holt Dawson
I am so sorry for your loss. My mother considered her one of her best friends! I am sure they will be laughing away in heaven. Love to you all. Brenda Simpson Taylor
Ms. Tyndall was my second grade teacher. She was kind, diligent, smart and resourceful. She read to us and gave me the foundation to be a life-long learner. My thoughts are with her family in these days and weeks to come. What a wonderfully, dear person. We are all so lucky to have known her.
Mrs. Tyndall was my second grade teacher at Sand Hill many years ago and I enjoyed her class so much. She always made me feel included, as I was a very shy child then. I am an avid reader today due to the teachers those first years in school. She will be missed by everyone that she knew over the years Sending prayers of peace to her family.
Paul, Pamela, and Paula, we offer our sincere condolences on the passing of your wife and mother, respectively.
By all accounts she was a wonderful person and we can certainly appreciate your loss.
May God grant you Peace as you move forward without your dear one. Judy & Dick Allen
