Arden- Patricia Ann Snyder (also known as Sweetheart, Mom, Grandma, Gigi and Princess), passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born in Miami, FL, but as a military kid she lived in many different places around the country. When her family ended up in Northern California, she met the love of her life, Ken. It was there that Patricia and Ken married on Valentine’s Day 1960, and had their first two daughters. Life then took them to Tampa, FL where they had another daughter, and where she worked and then retired from Delta Airlines. After both Ken and Patricia retired, they moved to the mountains of Hiawassee, GA and then to Asheville, NC where she happily lived out her days.

Together, Ken and Patricia shared many wonderful and adventurous years together traveling and sharing their lives with friends, neighbors and family.

Patricia was an avid reader who had a book or two going at all times. She loved to cook and got so much joy by creating delicious meals for her family. She had an unceasing sense of humor that kept everyone laughing even through a faint whisper at the very end.

Though never attending college, she kept everyone who knew her in awe by her brilliant ability to answer even the most difficult questions on Jeopardy, her favorite show.

Her empathetic nature for people was evident, but was extended to every animal she encountered, down to the smallest insect. Patricia, along with Ken attended the Skyland Methodist Church in Asheville for the past 8 years. She was a faithful woman who prayed regularly and who truly lived her life by the Golden Rule.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, James V. and Lois Ragsdale. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Snyder and her three children; Kelly (Ed), Katherine (Doug), and Kristine (Jurgens). She is also survived by five grandchildren; Kassandra, Chad, Paige, Julian and Evan; three great-grandchildren; Mackenzie, Christian and Isaiah as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My dear little cousin Pat who i knew since you were a baby. We shared our young childhood having fun and trying to find trouble to keep our moms busy. Love you Patty you will never be far from my heart

  2. My sweet cousin I remember all the good days we have had. I will miss you so much. Love you to the moon and back your cousin Judy .

  3. I have fond memories of spending time at the farmhouse with Aunt Lois and Uncle Jimmy. I think Pat was already out of the house, but her sister Susan was still there. She and I were closer in age than Pat and I. But I know that my mother has a lot of good memories of things that she and Pat shared. I know that a lot of people loved Pat and though she is gone from this world, she will not be forgotten. She lives in the hearts of those who love her.

  4. God looked arutnd His garden==And He found an empty place,
He then lookeddown upon this earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never, get well on earth again.
He sawthe road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your wearry eyelids and whispered, “Peace be thine”.
It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone
for part of me went with you The day God called you home

  5. Pat made me an aunt when I was 7 years old. I remember so many fun things we did together. also the teasing, arguing, and just being kids. I have so many memories and I think of them often

  6. My dear Delta friend you will be missed. We were hired together back in 1978, We celebrated Christmas with Ellen Booth, Patty Jay, Barbara Girtman, Barbara Dryden and me (Irene Hunter). We were so close because we knew what it was like to do the job we did. I will miss you. Love, Irene

  7. My thoughts and prayers are with you all! ” Making Memories”, she would say to my girls and me during our visits, I will forever carry those words close to my heart.

  8. Dear Ken, our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. You’re in our prayers and thoughts

  9. My daughter, mother and I were lucky enough to have met Patricia, when my daughter was three years old. Patricia always brought her heart, and humor with her. She shared it with such ease, and excitement. She will live on forever, in our hearts. “See ya later, alligator.” “After while, crocodile.” See ya soon, raccoon. Toddle-oo, Kangaroo.

  10. What a sweet person. Pat and I were in the same Delta Airlines class back in 1978. I’m glad to have known such a kind lady. May your family find peace at this sorrowful time.
