Patricia "Pat" McLaughlin Lockhart

Patricia “Pat” McLaughlin Lockhart, 73, of Arden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late William and Gladys Waycaster McLaughlin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Lockhart, Jr.; one daughter, Teresa Swann and eight siblings, Thurman, Violet, Eddie, Harold and Coy McLaughlin, Vernon Waycaster, Elizabeth Knight and Geraldine Silvers. Pat is survived by four grandchildren, Amanda Murphy (Chad), Brandon Williams, Amber Williams and Jamie Blankenship; two brothers, James and Emory McLaughlin; special niece, Angie Williams, great-grandchildren, Ashelyn Jones, Caitlyn Murphy, Ella Murphy, Madilynn Murphy, Maximus Murphy, Raegan Murphy and Landyn Williams, as well as many nieces and nephews. Pat lived for her family and loved Jesus. She will be missed by all who knew her. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, December 15 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 16 at Cane Creek Cemetery.
