Patsy Ann Horton Williams, 87, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth J. Horton and Mary Louise Wilson Horton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Williams, Sr., founder and owner of Williams Funeral Service, 856 Tunnel Road, in Asheville, NC.

She is survived by their son, Roy Williams, Jr., “Al” (Richelle); her sons, Tim Ownbey (Karen) and Steven Ownbey; five grandchildren, Hannah Williams, Thomas Ownbey (Angela), Marcie Ownbey, Alex Ownbey (Mimi), and Kaitlyn R. Machuca (Adrian); three great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth J. Horton, Jr.; and her Yorkshire Terrier, Abby.

Mrs. Williams was a 1954 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. She was a devout Christian, devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was a homemaker and modeled for Belk. She had appreciation for fine clothing, pocketbooks and shoes. She could be considered a “Fashionista.”

The graveside service is planned for Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Green Hills Cemetery, with Rev. Terry Duckworth, officiating. A visitation with family will be from 1 to 2:00 p.m. in the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Tunnel Road prior to the graveside service.

Flowers are appreciated and memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels in her memory.
