Paul Herbert Ledford, Sr., 76, of Asheville, died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at the Asheville VA Medical Center.
Mr. Ledford was born in Spartanburg, SC, and was a son of the late Zebulon Vance and Dallas Ledford. He was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Earl Ledford who died April 30, 2001.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired Produce Manager with Ingles. He was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Beulah Chasteen Blankenship Ledford; one daughter, Terri Morgan of Candler; two sons, Paul H.Ledford, Jr. of Asheville and James Dean Ledford of the home; one sister, Edna Radcliff of Newport News, VA; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Sunrise Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Higgins officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Buncombe County Veterans Council at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Adrian Ledford, Steven Ledford, Jason Ledford, Drew Owens, Carroll Blankenship and Herbert Gregory.
His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and request that memorials be made to Sunrise Baptist Church, 419 Deaverview Road, Asheville, NC

We have lost a great friend and helper. I sure will miss my ole coffee buddy. We have had a lot of good times with you, Paul, Tommy and Shirley, now there are only 4 of us. Lets keep it going as long as we can. It will be a good memory for Paul and Tommy C.
