Her loyal and active membership at First Baptist Church, Asheville, began over 50 years ago when she joined the Church with her family in August 1965. She contributed and participated in many projects including Sunday School teacher, member of the Women's Missionary Union (WMU), and participating many years to help prepare the decorations of the Church at Christmastime. Later that building became the BB&T Bank Building, and now it is being transformed into the Arras Hotel and condominiums known as The Arras Residences. Pauline and Glenn loved Asheville for family and business, and have been residents ever since. Pauline and her husband were great supporters of projects of First Baptist Church, the United Way, ABCCM, Billy Graham Association, Community Foundation, Diana Wortham Theatre, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, Memory Care, and so many other non-profit organizations in Western NC. Pauline lived with Alzheimer's Disease from 2006 onwards, and was a resident at Arbor Terrace of Asheville since February 2013. 26. Glenn and family,
Paula and I have you in our prayers as you celebrate the life of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I was reading about Pauline just this morning in Proverbs 31 where she was described in so many ways that fit her life and what she meant to others–‘more precious than jewels’. We gain comfort in knowing Pauline is no longer bound by the discomforts of this life and is now receiving her just reward at the feet of Jesus in heaven. We love you and your family and hope to see you one of these days soon!!
    Mike

Too often that is not mentioned, and the world needs people with your strength to do so. Then we’ll know how much we need to work to end Alzheimer’s. I will be thinking of Mrs Wilcox, along with my father and my mother, when i participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Asheville this September.
    My condolences for your loss.

  36. Prayers go out to all of the Wilcox family during this time of sadness. This family was very supportive of me during my youth at First Baptist. I remember Pauline giving me a ride home from church on more than one occasion.
