Polly Lunsford of 189 Johnston Boulevard passed away Monday, October 26, 2009, at Flesher's Fairview Health Care Center. Mrs. Lunsford was the daughter of the late John and Annie Gillis of Mars Hill, and she was the wife of the late Bynum Lunsford, who passed away in 1987. She then married W.T. Doan, who passed away in 2002. She was a charter member of Deaverview Baptist Church and retired with 20 years of service with Mars Mfg. Co. She is survived by one son, Bynum Lunsford, Jr. and wife, Judy; one sister, Maxine Owenby and husband, Carl; one step-son, Dana Doan and wife, Jennifer; one nephew, Rick Owenby; one niece, Ann Lamb and husband, Vern; and two great-nieces, Hannah and Chrystal. She also leaves her friends and staff at Flesher's Fairview Health Care, whom she loved. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Harkins and Darryl Searcy officiating. Interment will follow at Gardner-Gillis Cemetery in Madison County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.I’m sure Polly is resting the the arms of GOD.My Mother (Mary Helton) worked with her for many years.She passed in Jan.So I’m sure they are catching up .Mother Loved Polly she talked of her often.Trust GOD to see you through and he will.There is no greater love than a Mothers.May the wonderful person she was keep you going.God bless and keep you.We will be praying for you.
