Pauline Smart Hallman, 91, of Fairview, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at her residence. A native of Clarkesville, GA, she was a daughter of the late William Rutledge and Georgia Duckett Smart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther C. Hallman, who died in 1968; one son, Thomas R. Hallman and one brother, John F. Smart. Mrs. Hallman retired from the C.P. Clare Corporation, where she worked as an inspector. She was a member of Emma’s Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Hallman is survived by one daughter, June Buckner and her husband, Frank, of Fairview; two grandsons, Ronnie E. Buckner and his wife, Beverly and Michael F. Buckner and his wife, Tammy, all of Fairview; one great-grandson, Eric Thomas of Fairview and one sister, Janice S. Gemmell of Arlington, VA A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 5, 2009 at Emma’s Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Norris Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Monday, October 5, 2009 at Emma’s Grove Baptist Church and at all other times will be at the home of the daughter at 249 Emma's Grove Road. Memorial donations may be made to Brush Creek Baptist Church, C/O Lula Brown, 314 Bethany Church Road, Fairview, NC 28730.
