Pearl Grooms Teague Lunsford, 79 of 72 Mimosa Drive, Asheville, died Thursday, February 11, 1999, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Lunsford was raised in Madison County and was a daughter of the late Walter and Bonnie Baldwin Grooms.  She spent most of her adult life in Buncombe County, was married to the late Charlie H. Lunsford of Candler, and was also preceded in death by three infant children, a sister, Artie, and a brother, Orville.  She was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by four children and their  spouses, Vivian Teague Vernon and her husband Phillip, Treva Teague Redmon and her husband Eugene, Joy Teague Askew and her husband Eddy, and Robert J. Teague and his wife, Hoa Kim;  seven brothers and sisters, Mae, Valerie, Velma, Garrison, Latt, Lawrence, and Harry;  three grandchildren and their spouses, Johnnie C. and Joyce Biddix, Anne R. and David E. Combs, and Robert E. and Lisa H. Bugg;  three step-grandchildren, Carl E. Redmon and his wife Linda, Jennifer Askew and Shawn Askew, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at Groce Funeral Home Chapel on Patton Avenue with the Rev. Claude Surrett officiating.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Johnnie C. Biddix, Anne R. Combs, David E. Combs, Robert E. Bugg, Carl E. Redmon, and James Robert Bugg.
