Pearl O. Harris

Mrs. Harris was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late William Z. and Mary Jane Hill Owenby.  She was also predeceased by her son, Bub, and by a grandson, David Robin Edwards.  She was retired from Beacon Mfg. Co. and was a charter member of Fairview Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Wright, Patricia Henley, and Virginia Hirshom;  thirteen grandchildren, Barrie Ribeiro, Jamie McFlaughlin, Dawn, Michael, William, and Joel Hirshom, Kathy Edwards, David Wright, Linda Barr, Brenda Rollins (with whom Mrs. Harris had been living), Larry Jarvis, Randy Carman, and Billie Sue Black;  and a number of great and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 4 - 6 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
