Peggy Lee Hixon, 51, of 20 Blake Drive, Arden, died unexpectedly Friday, July 18, 2003, at her home. Ms. Hixon was born in Henderson County and was a daughter of the late Clyde Hixon and Lucy Lee Davis Hixon Smith. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Rice. She was a disabled veteran having served in the US Air Force from 1971 to 1986, and was a member of Arden Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two daughters, Onya Williams-Lynch and Shannon Lee Hixon, both of Arden; two sisters, Joyce Willis of Gastonia and Brenda Holbrook of Asheboro; and two brothers, Chuck Hixon of Candler and Ronnie Hixon of Fayetteville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team at Ashelawn Gardens. Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

    I always notice anything that has the name Hixon attached to it. I’m sorry to read that you lost another sister. I didn’t know about the first one until today. I think of you often. I don’t know if you are aware that Bruce died in 1995. Please let me hear from you.

    We were so sorry to hear of Peggy’s death . We didn’t know until late afternoon and we had just returned from Hendersonville.It isn’t possible for us to make it to the funeral so we wanted you to know how very sorry we are.
