Peggy Parker Powell

Peggy Parker Powell, 89, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Peggy was born in Asheville, Buncombe Co., NC, on March 5, 1935. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Penley; sons, Gregory, Jeffrey, and Timothy; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Hollis R. Powell, who died on June 20, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents, James Virgil and Annie Mae Bowlin Parker; her sisters, Vergie Parker Stubbs, Frances Parker Stubbs, Pauline Parker, and Barbara Parker Rogers; and her brothers, James Virgil Parker, Jr., Porter Parker, George Parker, and Clarence Parker.

She was a graduate of Sand Hill High School and Brevard College, Brevard, NC, in Business Management. A devout Christian and long-time member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, she was involved in many church activities.
