Biltmore Lake – Perry O. Matthews, 68 of Welsh Partridge Circle, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 27, 2006, at his residence. A native of Conover, he was the son of the late Roy and Helen Sigmon Matthews. He was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church, a retired furniture manufacturer in Hickory and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Josie Deal Matthews; daughter, Candace Blanchard, and her husband Rhett of Candler; three grandchildren, and six brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Carl Toth. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
