Fairview ~ Philomena Keller Davidson, 95, departed this temporary life for her permanent Heavenly home on Monday, July 25, 2005, following a prolonged illness and residency at Flesher’s Fairview Health Care Center in Fairview, NC.
She was a native of Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Pasquale and Amalia Castaldo, and sister of the late Dominic J. Castaldo. She also was preceded in death by Dominic’s son, Richard Castaldo, whom she had raised as a son.
Throughout her 48 year marriage to Henry G. Keller, a New York City Police Officer, she resided in South Ozone Park and Kings Park, Long Island. Following his demise in 1982, she relocated to Haw Creek in Asheville, NC, became an active member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church and volunteered numerous hours of service in the pharmacy at the Veterans Medical Center in Oteen. There, in 1991, she met and married Donald A. Davidson, a disabled World War II Army veteran who predeceased her on December 12, 2003. They had resided at his Ferenvilla Drive home in Hendersonville and later at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living in Asheville.
She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Grace Koehler, and son-in-law, Ronald J. Koehler of Fairview, NC; one granddaughter, Dr. Karen M. Koehler of Downington, PA; a grandson, Stephen M. Koehler of Newburgh, New York; two great-grandchildren, Sarah G. Koehler and David M. H. Koehler, also of Newburgh, NY
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday at the Biltmore Church of God with Sister Marjorie Allen officiating. The family will receive friends there immediately following the service
Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens, NY at a yet undetermined time.

Arlene & Ron, I’m very sorry about my Ladybug,& your loss of the sweetest woman I’ve ever known,& I feel very lucky to have got to know her,& share a year in a half of her life. She always could make me smile & laugh,& made me feel very special!Arlene-you & Ron are special to me too! I LOVE YOU BOTH,& I’ll NEVER FORGET MY LADYBUG!!
Aunt Frances was like a mother to me that I have always loved. She was a warm and caring person who made time for you no matter what. I will always keep her in my heart and love her always. She is now in a better place and with all the people that loved her. One day her other loved onces will be with her as well. My heart and prayers go out to her wonderful daughter Arlene and her family, who I love dearly.
