Phyllis Jane "Granny" Cloninger

Phyllis Jane “Granny” Cloninger, 82- Born November 22, 1941 passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at Hospice Solace Center.

She was the daughter of the late Theodore Franklin Hall Beam and Willie Bryte Self Beam, “Bea-baw”. She was preceded in death by her daughter Rhonda Paige Lawson, and husband of 15 years Don Cloninger.

Surviving are her brother Doyle Gene Beam (Kathy), son Matthew Benjamin Lawson (Heather), grandchildren: Caitlyn Hunt (Alex), Annabreea Kilby (Johnathan), Brittanie Lawson (Stephen Pace), Dakota Lawson (Hannah Griffith), great-grandchildren: Carter, Axton, Jackson, and Denver, as well as her niece Mallory Woolford (Rick).

Jane was native to North Carolina, born in Cleveland, NC. She was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. Jane was very proud of her family and will be truly missed by her family and friends. A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Jane’s name to the WNC Bridge Foundation, 294 Overlook Road, Asheville NC 28803.
