Phyllis Moser Gardner, 90, formerly of Asheville, went to Heaven on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Mrs. Gardner was a daughter of the late Coburn & Eula Baker Moser. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Raymond Gardner; sister, Joyce Moser Wilson, and brother, Jack Moser. Mrs. Gardner lived a long and happy life. She will be remembered as a beloved wife and mother who adored her family. She is survived by her children, Deborah Emmons, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Coburn Gardner (Linda), of Bat Cave, Mary Jane Fulbright (Richard), of Asheville, and Gregory Gardner (Janet), of Greensboro; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral service for Mrs. Gardner will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Abernethy United Methodist Church, 1418 Patton Ave., Asheville, NC 28806.

  1. i have such wonderful memories of my sweet Aunt Phyllis. Of those memories, her loving spirit stands out the most to me. She was always genuine, loving and sweet. She cherished her family and never took anything or anyone for granted. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
