Pilar F. Camby, 76, of 50 Hillside Drive, Fairview, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Mrs. Camby was born in the Philippines and went through the Japanese occupation. She married Kenneth S. Camby December 2, 1961, and had lived in the US since 1975. She travelled with her husband throughout the world as an Air Force wife. She was a very compassionate and giving person, known as "Mamaw" to her loving grandsons and others. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth S. Camby; a daughter, Kimberly Camby Harding and husband, Rev. Joe Harding, Jr.; and grandsons, Bennette and Bryson Harding. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday. The Revs. Ron Roberts and Joe Harding, Jr., will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery fund, PO Box 428, Fairview, NC 28730.

She was much better and kinder to me than I ever was to her, we will dearly miss her! She loved the way God loves us, unconditionally! Our prayers and sympathy to Mr. Camby, Kim, and family!
