Porter Clark
September 10, 1910 ~ March 12, 1999
Mr. Clark was born in Buncombe County, was a son of the late Mitch and Lina Pounders Clark, step-son of the late Elsie Clark, and was married to Oralee Golden Clark who died in 1992. He was custodian at West Buncombe School for 44 years and worked at Ingles Markets for 10 years. He was a member of Newfound Baptist Church.
He is survived by a sister, Argle Brooker of Hopewell, VA, and a number of nieces and nephews, including a close niece, Kay Fields of Asheville and a close nephew, Dean Crum of Leicester.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Charles Phillips officiating.
His family will receive friends 7-8:30 Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
