Resided in:
Fairview, NC
Priscilla Mae Lee Bishop of Flesher's Fairview Healthcare, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, November 26, 2012.
Born March 6, 1921, in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of Ralph Thomas and Orpha Mae Palmer Lee and married Horace "Huck" Maynard Bishop in Miami Beach, FL on June 27, 1941. Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her husband and by sisters Patty (Les) Smith, Mary (Jack) Wantz, Gloria (Roy) Jacobsen and a brother, Ralph T. Lee.
While her husband was serving as a B-24 pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II, she traveled with him & was a volunteer seamstress. Before having children, she owned a knit shop and was an avid knitter & teacher. She faithfully came alongside her husband at their family-owned grocery store in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She enjoyed tennis, crafts, keeping a lovely home and being a stay-at-home mom for the young "delights of her life!" Whatever she was doing, Priscilla always had a smile on her face and was a joy to be around.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Frenke (husband, Ken), of Fletcher, NC; two sons, Ralph Bishop of Delray Beach, FL, and Charles Bishop of Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren Dawn Pollack, Kenny (Janine) Frenke, Ann (Carl Beattie), Christi (Don Spencer) and eleven "really great"-grandchildren: AJ, Danielle, Nathan, Jacob, Ben & Aidan Pollack; Max & Emma Frenke, Piper Beattie, Gracie & Drew Spencer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Priscilla's great joy in life was her family. She was a loving, caring wife, dedicated mother, terrific grandmother, proud great-grandmother, and friend and will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Saturday afternoon, December 1, 2012 at 5:00 pm.
Prayers would be much appreciated, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Flesher's Fairview Health Care Center (memo line: Employee Fund) at 3016 Cane Creek Road, Fairview, NC 28730. (Special thanks to Dr. Don Culver & all the Flesher "Angels" who lovingly cared for Mom.) or Trinity Presbyterian Church (memo line: Music) at 17 Shawnee Trail, Asheville, NC 28805. (Pris loved the Christmas Music program.)
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
Pat I am so sorry for the lost of your mother my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time of sorrow
Dear Pat, I’m sure you have so many emotions going through you right now, from sadness to joy, that your dear sweet mom is now with our Lord! But without a doubt you’ll miss her terribly. She died knowing that she was loved, no question about that! Please know you and the family are in my prayers! Love you! Jackie
It was a privelege and an inspiration to watch how you and Ken took such loving care of your Mom. Praying for your peace, and thankful for your wonderful example of how to honor your Mother.
