Ralph M. Dinsmore, 98, of Asheville, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Laurels of Summit Ridge.
A native of Akron, Ohio, Ralph was the son of the late Chester and Zana Chenoweth Dinsmore. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marian.
Ralph proudly served his country in the US Army from January of 1944 through March of 1946. He was a part of the 21st Infantry in Northern France and Central Europe, where he earned 4 Bronze Service Stars, a Good Conduct Medal and a World War II Victory Medal. He fought in the Battle Of The Bulge, including time behind enemy lines flying in a wooden glider. After his time in the service, Ralph worked as an asphalt inspector in the Washington, DC area and then locally for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
He loved spending time and sharing meals with his Haw Creek neighborhood friends and always maintained a manicured yard and enjoyed planting flowers.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 2 at Lewis Memorial Park.

For many years Ralph and I shared a friendship.He was always so kind and patient,never saying a harsh word of anyone.Throughout the years he faced challenges but always had love and hope in his heart.I know he is at rest and enjoying his family who have been longing to see him!
