Arden ~ Randall Charles Ward, 50, of Long Shoals Road died on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Mission Hospital. Randall was born January 20, 1958 in Henderson County and was the son of Eleanor Brooks Ward and the late James Ward, who died in 2007. He was a graduate of A-B Technical College. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Connie Ward Slack of Arden; a brother, Martin Pierce Ward of Mills River; two nieces, Briana and Cheryl Slack and a great-niece Giavanna Lordman. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with the Rev. Roger Rearden officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
