Randy O'Donnell

Thomas “Randy” O’Donnell, 78, was born on February 5, 1944, and passed away on January 9, 2023, at CarePartners Solace Center after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

Randy was the son of the late Bill and Pearl O’Donnell. He graduated from Lee H. Edwards High School in 1962 and from UNC-Asheville in 1972. After graduation, he went to work for Wachovia Bank in Asheville and Waynesville, NC. He later owned and operated Carolina Real Estate Educators and taught seminars throughout the state.

Mr. O’Donnell was a member of the Basilica of St. Lawrence, like his family before him since the origination of the church.

Mr. O’Donnell is survived by Patsy Dillingham O’Donnell, his wife of 57 years; son, William Randy O’Donnell, of the home; daughter, Anna Marie O’Donnell, of Asheville; and granddaughter, Karry Craig, of Austin, TX.

His family wishes to thank the CarePartners hospice staff, but especially Melissa, who guided the family during a difficult time. Randy was always happy to see Melissa. Gratitude is also extended to his caregiver, Diane Hutchison, who was always there when they needed her, as well as Jamie and Randy with Crossfire Ministries.

A private service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Asheville.
