Randy Wesley McDevitt

Randy Wesley McDevitt, 58, passed away April 30th, 2016, after a long battle of illness. He was born May 23rd, 1957 in Greeneville, TN, to the late Ralph and Bertha Wallin McDevitt. He grew up in Madison Co., moved to Asheville in his teens and graduated from Asheville High School, then AB Tech, with an associate's degree in Business. Randy was a loving husband and father. He was a good man, always trying to help others when he could. Randy proudly served in the US Air Force in Cheyenne Mountain, CO, as a Communication/Cryptographic Systems Specialist. Randy excelled at his job with Mitel Networks, Inc. while working there for 22 years. He enjoyed traveling, reading, golf when he could still play, gambling, flying, and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" McDevitt; sons, Joshua Lee and Timothy Christopher McDevitt; grandson, Wyatt Drake McDevitt; step-son, Otis Dewayne Pearson (Kathy), and step-grandson, Chase Alexander Pearson; brother, Thomas McDevitt (Donna); nephew, Jeremy, and niece, Amy. A special thank you to the staff of the VA Hospital and Hospice Center in Asheville for their compassion and excellent care. The family held a private Celebration of Life at the home.
