Swannanoa – Reba Bright Smeltzer, 84, of Swannanoa, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Memorial Mission Hospital.
Mrs. Smeltzer was born in Madison County to the late Fred and Lydia Henderson Bright. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Carter Smeltzer.
Mrs. Smeltzer is survived by her daughter, Diane Edwards and her husband, Charles, of Asheville; three sisters, Margie Beasley and husband, Jennings, of Swannanoa, Helen Thomas and her husband, Burter, of Waynesville and Anna B. Jones and her husband, Dan, of Hendersonville; a brother, Thomas Bright of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Shane Smeltzer and Freddy Smeltzer and one great grandson, Ryland Smeltzer Gasperson.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, May 11, 2012 at Buckeye Baptist Church in Swannanoa with Reverend Judson Rotan officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 4530 Park Road, Suite 230, Charlotte, NC 28209.
