Rebecca "Becky" Case Taylor, 78, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe Co., Rebecca was a daughter of the late Arthur and Millie Austin Case. She was also preceded in death by her son, Arthur Lee Taylor, and by brothers and sister, Carol, Carl, Bobby, and Buster Case, and Bonita Michales.
Rebecca loved to cook, quilt, garden, and read. But she especially loved spending time with family. She enjoyed collecting frogs and elephants. One word that described her was "love," and she preached her own funeral with the example she set.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Marvin Ray Taylor; son, Marvin Ray Taylor, Jr. and wife, Tamra; daughter-in-law, Carol Taylor; special granddaughter and caretaker, Misty Taylor, Becky's pride and joy (Wesley Smith); grandchildren, Nathan Taylor (Amber), and Angie McCarson (Lee); great-grandchildren, Allen Taylor, Jalen Smith, Hailey Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Collin Smith, Savannah Taylor, and Carter Smith; one great-great grandchild on the way; sisters, Dorothy Buckner and Shirley Wright (James); brother, Terrell Case; sisters-in-law, Ethel Case and Ailene Black (Neil); brother-in-law, Roy Taylor (Helen); and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece and best friend, Cindy Jordan (Harry).
Memorial services for Mrs. Taylor will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Eva Farren and Pastor Arnold Vess officiating.
Her family will receive friends following the service.

Becky was a lovely and kind lady. She always welcomed people in her home with open arms. We will miss her so much. She is in heaven rejoicing and looking down on us left here on earth.
For those that didn’t know…. Becky made the best potato salad in the world.
