Rebecca Hawkins Metcalf, 72, of Leicester, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 8, 2017.
Born in Battle Creek, MI, Rebecca was a daughter of the late Willard and Ruth Hawkins.
Mrs. Metcalf worked for the City of Asheville, and she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Gordon Wayne Metcalf; daughter, Wayna Metcalf; half brother Douglas Edward Plunkett of MI; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Alexander. The Rev. Ray Vail and the Rev. Louis Grant will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Macedonia Baptist, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund, 1468 Jenkins Valley Rd., Alexander, NC 28701.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
