Our hearts go out to you at this time of loss. It was our honor to get to know Rebecca during her treatment. The two of you were such a blessing to us – far more than you could ever know. Her strength and determination were an inspiration to us all. She fought valiantly for so long, yet faced her death with such grace and courage. We stand in awe of what an amazing woman she was. Our words cannot express what we feel in our hearts for Rebecca, Howard and your family. We pray God bless you and keep you in this time of sorrow. May He surround you and fill you with His peace. Rest in His embrace. We love you.
Dear Hazelrigg Family,
I was the librarian at Reynolds High School when she was a teacher there. She was an excellent English teacher and I am sure she was an excellent Daughter, Wife, Mother, and a real doting Grandmother. She was a caring teacher, and a good friend to all those on our faculty.
I missed her a lot when she left teaching and I don’t think our paths crossed again, but I will always remember her. I am so sorry that you no longer have her with you, but keep her in your hearts.
May God’s love surround you, and his faith sustain you, and hope encourage you day by day.
Love in Christ,
Ethel Jacobson

Dear Hazelrigg family,
Know that we are with you in thoughts and prayers. Our apologies that we cannot be there with you now. You are such a strong and gracious family. I am glad that I got to know Mrs. Rebecca as I did. She brought up her girls to be beautiful, intelligent young women.
Love and God Bless,
Dana and Mark Sippe
To Howard, Heather & Megan:
My sincere condolences go out to all of you and to Mabel as well. Becky and I were childhood friends. Although we lost touch after I moved away, we re-connected in 2007 when my mother passed away and we kept in touch via email after that. She kept a brave spirit throughout her illness and I’m sure is an inspiration to all who knew her. Her family was her top priority. She looked forward to the arrival of her granddaughter, Anne, and felt blessed by the time she was given to spend with her. May you all be blessed by her memory and carry her spirit with you everyday. Although I am saddened by her passing, I will always remember her with fondness.
To Howard and the girls:
Our sincerest sympathy go out to you and the girls over the loss of Becky. Her mother, Mabel, father, Alvin, were best friends with my grandmother, Ga-Ga Mildred Burns and my grandfather James Burns. I still remember being ring-bearer at your wedding, Howard, and still cherish the pocket knife that I still have that you and Rebecca gave me. My mother Cathie and I are truly saddened by your loss as I am sure my aunt Beth in Hawaii is devastated by your loss as well.
You and your family will remain in our hearts and our prayers go out to you.
Much love,
Mrs. Cathie Ann Burns-Vaughn of Arden
Dr. Jamie G. Vaughn-Hudson of Asheville
Mrs. Beth Teresa Burns Nesbitt Krug Waldrup.
Howard and family,
May I offer my sincere condolences at the hardest times of ones life, the absense of a loved one.
Many prayers for strength comes your way.
Friend,
Jim Harmon
