Reuben Garfield Frisbee, 82, of 31 Lamb Avenue, Asheville, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2005. By his side were his son Kenneth and his daughter Vickie. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late William and Etta Harrell Frisbee. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. Frisbee; two sisters, Barbara Fore and Sylvia Roberts and two brothers, Woodrow Frisbee and James Frisbee. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. A member of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers, Local 238, since 1956, he traveled throughout the east coast working in the trade. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Vickie Johnston of Asheville; two sons, Kenneth Frisbee and his wife Lisa of Asheville and Donald Frisbee of Georgia; five step-children, Gail Carico, Rosalena Wooten, Janice Adams, Robert Wooten, Jr. and Michael Wooten; a sister, Dorothy Bloch of Easley, SC; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Buzz Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
