Fletcher ~ Rev. Coy F. Hensley, 77, of Jones Circle, died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at his residence. A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth Rice Hensley, who died in July, 1994. He was preceded in death by one sister, Sara Jane Duck and three brothers, Garrison, Garrett and Baxter Hensley. He retired in 1987 from BASF with forty-two years of service and at the time of his death was employed at Taco Bell in Skyland. He was a chaplain for the Enka Workers' Union and a faithful member of Biltmore Holiness Temple. Surviving are three daughters, Pat Aden and Terry Thomas, both of Fletcher, Carren Robinson of Mills River; one son, Gerald Hensley of Ft. Smith, AR; two sisters, Dorothy Yearout of Leicester and Mamie Hensley of Weaverville; one brother, Everett Hensley of Weaverville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Pastor James Gass and Rev. Carren Robinson will officiate. Entombment will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
