Revis C. Prestwood, 75, of 1633 Newfound Rd., Asheville, died Friday, January 5, 2001 in a local nursing facility.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Charlie and Sallie Stines Prestwood. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Frankie King Prestwood. Mr. Prestwood was a US Navy veteran of WW II and a member of Grace United
Methodist Church.
His survivors include his wife, Juanita Sprouse Prestwood; daughter, Teresa Prestwood of Greenville, SC; son, Gary Prestwood of Leicester;
step-daughter, Shirley Parton of Asheville; step- son, Terry Sprouse of Asheville; sister Exum Ball of Leicester; brothers, Morris and Hurley
Prestwood both of Leicester, Dan Prestwood of Ramseur, NC; two grandchildren, two great- grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Rev.
Fred Carpenter will officiate with burial following in Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery.
His family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

So sorry to hear of Revis’s untimely death. I shall always remember him as a friend and dedicated coworker. Sorry we are away and can’t attend the service but our thoughts and prayers are with you.
