REVONDA MAXINE HANEY LEICESTER – Revonda Maxine Haney, 74, of Gilbert Rd., Leicester, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Vegie Hipps Smith. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Aileen White, and by brothers William Rex Smith and Neil Smith. Mrs. Haney worked for Mars Manufacturing for 23 years, and was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Carmon Russell Haney; sons Jerry West and Michael West; grandchildren Christopher West, Lauren West, Heather West; 5 great-grandchildren; and a brother Glenn Smith. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lee Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

We will not be able to attend the funeral service as we have a trip planned out of town this weekend with family.     I was sorry to read of your Mother’s death. My Dad died several years ago in December also. I guess we are at that age where parents are aging. My sincere sympathies to our and your family.

  5. dear mike and family, just to say we are so sorry for your loss.my dad passed a few years ago, and it’s still hard for me especially at christmas and fathers day. but the good lord will get you through. and always remember he has a purpose for your dear mother,wife and friend.

  12. carmen jerry and mike i am really sorry for loss revonda was a really good woman. i remeber she use to make oatmeal cookies every year on my birthday. this is a great loss for a lot of people.
