Rhobenia Cook Smith

August 3, 1915 ~ May 6, 1999

Rhobenia Cook Smith, 83, of 191 Pennsylvania Avenue, Asheville, died Thursday, May 6, 1999,
at her home.

Mrs. Smith was born in Buncombe County, was a daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Whitaker Cook, and was married to William R.
Smith, who died in 1988. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Rachel Rathbone of Clyde;
a son, Thomas Smith of Asheville; a sister, Edna L. Cook of Asheville; three grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at
11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Peurifoy
and Ralph L. Reed officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

Her family will receive
friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to Eliada Home for Children, PO Box 16708, Asheville, NC 28816.
