  1. Prayers to Diane and the family.
The miles between us kept us from ever connecting and becoming as close as we should have. But I’ll always cherish the few times that I did get to spend with my cousin and his family. He overcame a lot to become a great and admired man. I know his family is proud of him and the legacy he left behind.

  2. To the family and friends of Jody, it’s hard to let him go, but we have to carry on the mantle of kindness, love and more that he has passed on to us..
You all are in my thoughts and prayers

  3. Thoughts and prayers to Paula and Diane and family. Jody was a awesome man and will be missed greatly. If there is anything we can do please call. Praying for you!

  4. Diane, Paula, Tyler, Alisha,Taylor, Nikki, Gracie, Hayley- we cannot begin to express our sympathy at the loss of such a tremendous friend. There was never a time Jody didn’t make us laugh. His attitude and spirit for life was unwavering . The love of his family was his greatest gift and the legacy he leaves behind will never diminish. We are so blessed to have known and love him and we cherish the memories and laughter we shared. He was as true as they come. We love you all more than you will ever know.

  5. Richard was a good person always seeing the best in people. I will miss passing him on Smokey park highway, blowing that horn in the dump truck and with a big smile waving at me in my van.

  6. Jodie you will be missed. I wish there were words for peace and some comfort in this heart breaking time. My thoughts and prayers. God Bless in the days ahead for strength. 💕

  7. Diane and all the Bartlett family, Your family was great neighbors when you lived on Hidden Brook Lane. We miss you folks, and so sorry to hear about Jody. May our Lord give you comfort and strength during this time. Harold and Taunia Laflin, and Faye Metcalf

  9. Jody was a very kind and good man. My sympathies are with his family. I am praying for comfort and peace for his wife, children and the rest of his family.

  10. Diane and family, It’s hard to put into words how very sorry we are to learn of Jody’s passing. Such a sweet smiling precious man who loved you and his family so much! It was always so evident how much he loved and cared for you. I’m sure there was quite a reunion in heaven, no more sickness, but it doesn’t fill the void you have. Praying for you and the family. Love, Charlie & Loretta Higdon

  11. Diane, my sincerest condolences to you and your family. Jody was such a character. Was there ever a time he didn’t make others smile or laugh? All of the school functions-you always had to make us behave. He had a heart of gold and the two of you had the kind of marriage the rest of us wish for. I am so sorry for your loss. Jody will be missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. We love you all and are always here for you. -Angela, Kesley, Wayne, Atley and Chariden

  13. It’s very difficult to lose a person that seemed to have no enemies. The only solace that comforts me is to know that,
“to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”
    – 2 Corinthians 5:8
You have been and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

    Much love,
    Sandy Jackson

  14. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during these coming days. Richard was truely a wonderful person who will be sorely be missed. Working with him at Stock Building Supply was like being with family. He had such a big heart and great sense of humor. He will forever be in our hearts. Love to Diane and family. So very sorry for your loss. Jody and Brenda Burrell

  15. Diane, Much Love to your and the family. I know Jody will be looking after you guys as he always did……

  16. Diane and family,
Jody was one of a kind. Whenever we saw y’all there was sure to be laughter. We will never forget Cracker Barrel mornings, fussing about our teenagers and then laughing about the things they were doing. When he looked at you, anyone could see you were his world. He was the true definition of a great husband and family man. Love you.

  17. RIP Jody- You have ran a good race and now your race is done. Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain. Diane – You and family are in our thoughts and prayers. We Love You

  21. God must’ve needed help and knew who to call. Richard will be missed, but it’s comforting to know we will see him again.

  22. I’m so sorry. It was really a relief to have met Richard just as my environmental restoration business was growing and I needed some help with trucking. He was so helpful, reliable and friendly and would literally stop in the middle of the highway to pull me out of the ditch. Diane, if I can help with anything please let me know. Saddened.
