Resided in: Fletcher, NC

Richard Keith Brevard, 78, of Fletcher went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 14, 2021. Richard was born December 22, 1942 to Darrell Keith Brevard and Jeanette Baldwin Brevard. He graduated West Henderson High school in 1961 and then Asheville Buncombe Technical College earning his degree in Tool and Die Making. He spent his career working as a Tool and Mold maker for both Taylor Instruments and Alliance Carolina.

He was a charter member of Skyland First Baptist Church and later moved to Biltmore Church, where he currently served. He loved the Lord and devoted his life to the service of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He had an amazing servant’s heart and loved to lend his time and talents to anyone in need, be it automotive, plumbing, or building. One of his great joys was being able to serve in the SPAN Ministry and with Baptist Men on numerous local and national mission projects.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nellie Ray Brevard. He was blessed with two children, Lisa Brevard Orr and her husband Chris of Arden, and Dale Keith Brevard and his wife Megan of Charlotte. He was also blessed with three grandchildren: Emily Brevard Orr, Zachary Christopher Orr, and Theodore Keith Brevard. He is also survived by two brothers Ron Brevard of Arden, and Randy Brevard and wife Patricia of Greenville, VA. He had a wonderful extended family along with a network of many treasured friends.

One of his greatest wishes was that all would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, August 20th at Biltmore Church. A celebration of his life, giving thanks to God for allowing his family the blessing of his presence here on earth, will be held immediately following, starting at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Kelvin Moseley will officiate the service with others participating. A private burial service will be held at Calvary Churchyard in Fletcher.

Memorials may be made to SPAN Ministry at Biltmore Church. The family wishes God’s rich blessings on all those who loved and assisted Richard on life’s journey.

Groce Funeral Home’s Lake Julian team is assisting the family.
