Robert Eugene Hatton

Robert Eugene Hatton, 68 of Lilac Lane, Fletcher died on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at his residence. Born in Germantown, MD, he was the son of the late Fred and Joyce Pierce Hatton and was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Hatton. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during Vietnam era and retired from Cranston Print Works. He is survived by his wife, Maria DeJesus Hatton of Fletcher; three step-daughters, Myrna Godfrey of Asheville, Annabelle Jones of Gibsonville, NC and Beth Buckley of Charlotte; five step-grandchildren, Warren, Wesley and Walter Godfrey, Aaron Buckley and Storm Jones; former wife, Mary Lee Hatton of Arden and sister–in-law; Eula Mae Grimes and husband Ernest “Jr” Grimes. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
