Robert Garvin Wilson, 86, of Asheville, passed away at the Charles George VA Medical Center on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.
Mr. Wilson was a native of Montclair, NJ. He was a son of the late Edward J. and Cornelia Ferguson Wilson. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was stationed in Japan and awarded the World War II Victory Medal. He retired from Crane Resistoflex as a tool designer.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Juanita Isabel Payne Wilson; his daughter, Dr. Robin Eubanks and husband Michael of Newark, NJ; his sons, Gregory Garvin Wilson and wife Octavia of Canajarie, NY, and Steven Roger Wilson and wife Lisa of London, England; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Louis Wilson of Phoenix, AX; and two sisters, Irene Tyler of NJ and Malinda Crews of Lakeland, FL.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Rd., with the Rev. William Osigian and Pastor Charles Martin officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Committal services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 24, at the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain.
