Robert James Blackman, 67, of Asheville, died Saturday, March 11, 2017 at The Oaks of Sweeten Creek.
Mr. Blackman is survived by the mother of his children and wife for twenty-six years, Beth Andreu; daughters, Sunny Webb, Jenna Helton, Holly Salinas, Grace Petry, Shekinyah Mason, and Josephine Blackman; son Israel Blackman; thirteen grandchildren; sister Nancy Blackman; and brother Carl Blackman. He was preceded in death by his sister Carla Blackman.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

Your kindness toward me & kristi & Kevin was a true example of Christian love and family bond during a very difficult time for me.And your goodness shined thru to so many others who knew you throughout your life. Susan and I are sorry to hear of Bob’s death and fondly remember him and your family. I have pictures of him and a video of him and crew painting at our house on Liberty Street, and how you all came by as he worked years ago. He did good work for us through many years and we liked him. Hope all goes well with your family now after what was surely a long and trying time.
