Robert Jerome Roberson, 72, of Asheville, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Duke Medical Pavilion.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Luther and Daisy Warren Roberson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Vern Roberson.
Mr. Roberson was a 1962 graduate of Erwin High School, and retired from Southern Bell.
Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Phyllis Letterman Roberson; daughters, Lolita Pilkington and husband Hardy of Kentucky, and Keisha Lipe and husband David of Asheville; grandchildren, Stephanie, Stephen, and Jennifer Pilkington of Kentucky, and Robert Dylan Lipe of Asheville; and brother, Cecil Roberson and wife Judy of Asheville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
So sorry to read about Jerome. I went to school with him all the way through elementary school and high school. I would like to express my sympathy to the family and we will be remembering you in prayer.
Jerome was always a kind and caring person. My sympathy goes out to his family.

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your loving and caring husband and father. Jerome was such a special man and was like a father to me during periods of my life. He will be missed immensely and I know he’s up in heaven doing what he did best helping others. You all are in my heart and prayers because I know what it’s like to lose a parent and special person in your life. God bless you all.
Sorry to hear of Jerome’s passing. We went through elementary and high school together. Remembering the family in thoughts and prayers.
