Robert Lee Cordell, Jr., 61, of Indian Hill Dr., Leicester, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013. A native of Brownsville, Texas, he was a son of Retha Joyce Cordell and of the late Robert Lee Cordell, Sr. Mr. Cordell is survived by his wife of 41 years, Louise Bridges Cordell; a daughter, Leigha Denise Cordell; a son, Corky Scott Cordell and his wife, Jolanta; sister Cheryl Wilkins; brother Randy Cordell and his wife, Michelle; a niece, Mahalie Miller and her husband, Brandon; and four surviving grand-dogs. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Long Shoals Rd.

    I’m so saddened by the passing of Robert. I had spoken with him at the store recently (my sons had worked with him at C&J.)We don’t understand these untimely passings,but even in the valleys God is so good. You will find comfort and peace from God. I trust you will lean heavily on Him.

    My heart goes out to you. I think we only met once. I worked with Robert at Frito, and hadn’t seen him in quite a few years. He was a Wonderful man, a Great person & I am sad that’s he’s left this world. He will always be watching over you, and I hope you find comfort in that.
