  1. The hills of western North Carolina have lost a true gentleman this week. Though small of stature he stood full of kindness and help for his fellow man and maintained a wonderful sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.

  2. I lived next door to Mr. Sechler from birth until I moved away for college. My mother still lives in the home next door to his.
Over the years he has been a very good neighbor to my mother.
My mother often commented about his beautiful garden and he frequently shared vegetables that he had grown with her.
For years he fed the birds and she always enjoyed watching the birds in his yard
My mother found it comforting to know that he was next door and will miss him.

  3. TO SON ROBERT: I hope I’m writing to the right person and if I am I hope you remember me from high school. I have remembered your name and was sorry to read about this. I want you and your family to please accept my sympathy. I share your loss since I have lost both my paarents and brother.

    • Granddaddy, I miss you terribly.
I take peace in knowing you and Grandmother are together. I love you and am thankful for all the wonderful memories.
