Robert M. Jontz, 66, formerly of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Elizabeth House, Flat Rock.
Born in Blytheville, AR, he was a son of the late William Mearl and Billie Louise Gaines Jontz, and was also preceded in death by a brother, William Gaines Jontz.
He is survived by a brother, David Tucker Jontz, of Biltmore Forest.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Elmwood Cemetery, Blytheville, AR.

You don’t know me, but I was a preservation friend of Gaines’s; we worked on projects together when I was with the Western Office of Archives and History. I probably spoke to you in the receiving line at the back of the church after his funeral; those are so awkward. I am sorry you have now lost two wonderful brothers.
