Guestbook

  1. My grandmother was Margaret Whittemore (1892>1955) and she was born in Barnardsville. She was a teacher in Fairview for years and married Oscar Blankenship from Cane River, also in the school business. If Mr. Whittemore had roots in Barnardsville we are probably related on the Whittemore side. To his family my deepest sympathy. Gerry Huntley, Fairview, NC. gerryh1947@yahoo.com

  2. I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ll never forget Cam’s story about him “bowling for dollars” in the Bent Creek house. 😂 I know you all loved him so much and he will be missed. I’m sure he was very proud of all of you and will continue watching over you all. Love, hugs and prayers for all of you!!
    Love,
    Jerri Henderson-Cordell

  3. We are very sorry to hear Mr. Whittemore passed away. He was a favorite, and we loved hearing him talk about his coin collection. Please accept our sincere sympathy. May God grant you peace and comfort.

  4. My heart is so sad to read this. Bob and I were neighbors growing up. Had the best Dad and Mom. Will miss you my crazy friend. I will always remember the crazy (real life) stories you told and the million jokes, made me laugh so hard. Thank you for your many years of friendship. The past 2 years have been very hard on you, faced many physical challenges , but took them like a trooper. Will miss you but RIP and I will see you on the other side.
    Gary and Martha Maney

  5. Just heard and so sorry, his mom kept me for years during the day and it was so much fun.

  6. Robert we will truly miss your visits to our store. We loved seeing your newest additions to your coin collections that you enjoyed so much. And to Mrs. Martha Maney your endless efforts
to see that your dear friend got to his doctor’s appointments, to the grocery store, the pharmacy,
and rides home from the hospital so many times, our thoughts are with you too!
