Robert Ryan Parker

robert parker

Sadly, on September 3, 2023, this world unexpectedly lost an exceptional and dear man. Robert “Ryan” Parker was just 45, and his absence for many, many future years will be felt deeply.

He was born in Asheville, NC, on November 27, 1977. He attended Enka High School and graduated from AB Tech with an Associates degree in HVAC. He was a talented machinist and enjoyed the work that he did. He also loved to fish and play golf. His love for his family was evident to anyone who knew him and was invaluable to those who received it. His fun, playful and laid-back personality was a light to many. Ryan had one beautiful daughter, Maleea Ryan Parker, and one beautiful granddaughter, Enslee Marie Nicholas. He cherished and loved his daughter and grandchild. We will continue to keep his name alive through them.

He is survived by his mother, Deborah Elkins; his sisters, Stephanie Parker, and Kristin Ramsey Wall; his daughter, Maleea Ryan Parker and her husband, Michael Nicholas, and their daughter Enslee Marie Nicholas; and his father, Robert B. Parker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins who were more like siblings.

He was preceded in death by his daddy, Doyle David Ramsey, paternal grandfather, Houston Ramsey, paternal grandmother, Hattie Ramsey and maternal grandmother, Opal Elkins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 11, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

  3. My deepest sympathies to the family of Robert Ryan Parker. Ryan, we have lots of memories together, from our first teen job at B.K. In Candler, to trips together in our 40s! You will always be remembered. I think GOD allowed us to cross paths again in our adult lives’ to bring some happiness to each other at the time we were at in life. You’ve seen me laugh and you’ve seen me cry. You were a good son, father, and friend. Thank you for the smile’s you brought into my life on my journey. I believe I brought you some happy too.
