Robert William Gentile, 46, of Asheville died Tuesday, January 15, 2002, in Chapel Hill. A native of Oak Lawn, IL, he was a son of Armand Gentile of Illinois and Charlotte Dehart of Candler. He was an honor student and on the Dean’s List at A-B Tech. Also he served in the US Navy during Viet Nam. He was a Viet Nam veteran. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kathy Carlson and a son, Philip Carver of Asheville. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Father Harry Woggon officiating and the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team providing military honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Make A Wish Foundation, 1293 Hendersonville Road #1, Asheville, NC 28803.
