Roberta Bean Robertson

Mrs. Roberta Bean Robertson, 101, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2018 at her apartment home at Givens Estates. Born in Toledo, IL to the late Jesse and Hettie Bean, she was the first of four children. In additional to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings and her husband of 55 years, James A. Robertson. Their son, Alan Robertson, of Sheffield, VT survives her. Roberta graduated from Illinois Commercial College and attended the University of Illinois. Active in the Presbyterian Church, she held many leadership positions, taught Sunday School, and was ordained as a Stephen’s Minister in 1989. She was a faithful servant to the Lord. Other activities included P.E.O., numerous garden and bridge clubs, custom sewing, and continued church involvement. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Kubitschek and Dr. Timothy Vanderkwaak for their care of her. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 3070 Sweeten Creek Road in Asheville. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hope Presbyterian Church. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
