Roberta Cathleen Taylor Reemes, 94, went to be with her heavenly father on July 19, 2015, and to join her husband, Reuben, who preceded her in death. Roberta, loving wife, mother and grandmother, was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Candler, NC. She was born in Madison Co., NC, on February 6, 1921 to Will and Maloney Rice Taylor. She is survived by daughters Pat Carson, of Villa Rica, GA; Wanda Meyer and husband Harald, of Villa Rica, GA; and Brenda Gail Kellis and husband Ron, of Candler, NC; grandchildren, Mechelle Cooksey and husband Bill, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jack Goodwin, of Jersey, GA, and Brad Kellis, of Candler, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Receiving of friends will be held at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave. at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, followed by the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Road, Asheville, NC. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

    Roberta was such a strong , good woman. I know that this is hard, because you were and still are so close, but just knowing her and Rueben, I know she is happy now with her Jesus and with her Rueben. We thank God for bringing her into our lives at Edgewood. She was a true lady in every sense of the word.

  6. We are so sorry for your loss. Roberta was a devoted mother and faithful Christian. She touched the lives of many as she served her Lord and Savior. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her throughout her life and ultimately gave her peace. Roberta was a lovely, sweet lady, we are proud to have known her!! Our prayers go out to the family at this very difficult time.
