Roger Allen Hawkins, 62, of Leicester, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Buncombe Co., Roger was a son of Revonda Walker Hawkins and of the late Clarence Glenn Hawkins. He was retired from Eaton.

In addition to his mother, Roger is survived by his brother, Rodney D. Hawkins.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

I met Roger I think in my freshman year at Erwin and we became friends, then later working at the Old Winn Dixie stores with him and Clarence.
